KHS FCCLA, was selected to receive the 2017 National Runner Up Leadership Service in Action Award, sponsored by National FCCLA. Leadership Service in Action is an FCCLA national program that guides students to develop, plan, carry out, and evaluate projects that improve the quality of life in their communities. The award recognizes chapters that identify a community need and promote community involvement to meet that need. As the national Runner Up, the KHS FCCLA chapter will receive a $500 award, presented at the 2017 FCCLA National Leadership Conference, this July in Nashville, TN. Thank you for supporting our partnership with Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids (CTFK), and for engaging FCCLA members in trainings that will help them understand the dangers of tobacco use and how their voices can help their generation #BetheFirst tobacco-free generation.
AP Literature, AP Environmental Science and AP US History classes will have final exams this week. The AP Environmental Science test will be Monday. The AP Literature test is Wednesday and the AP US History test is Friday. All tests begin at 8:00 AM.
All Seniors in VA classes will have to have all their assignments turned in by 3:30 pm May 1st.
All other VA students will have to have all assignments turned in by May 12th by 3:30 pm.
Semester test in VA will be May 16, 17 and 18.
Mrs. Hawkins will be taking qualified AR students to the Berryville Community Center to swim on Tuesday. The bus will leave and return during the school day.
3rd and 4th grade are currently selling business discount cards. They are good for one year to multiple places in Kingston, Harrison and surrounding Fayetteville/Springdale area that can be accessed online. They are a great bargain for just $20. This will help pay for our chicken project over the summer and first of next year and hopefully provide access for another field trip. Thanks for supporting our students!
The Kingston campus will be taking students to Jasper for physicals on May 4th at no charge. This applies to any student who even thinks they may want to play any sport next school year (golf, cross country, basketball, track, softball, cheer, or baseball). Forms have been sent home, but you may get forms in the office as well. All forms must be completed for the physical before going. Parents, please see that you have signed all spaces on the 6 pages.
The Kingston FFA Alumni is raffling a student made picnic table to be given away on May 13 (Fair on the Square). The Alumni are also having a silent auction during the Kingston’s Fair on the Square. All items have been created or donated by the FFA students, A Small Town Thing, Folsom's Crafts and the Place on the Square. Tickets are 1 dollar or 6 for 5 dollars.
Kingston’s Got Talent 2017, our school talent show, will be held on Monday, May 1st during 6th and 7th hour, 1:00-2:30. Parents are welcome to attend and support all of our talented students. There will be prizes for the top 3 talent show acts.
The Kingston Music classes are selling raffle tickets for an Ozark Trail cooler full of fishing gear including lures, bait, and other goodies. Tickets are $5 apiece or $20 for five. They can be purchased from any high school music student. The drawing for the raffle will take place during the KHS Spring Concert on Monday, May 1st. There will also be a silent auction with items donated from local businesses that will take place during the Spring Concert. The concert will begin at 6:30 in the gym.
