Week of November 13th - 17th , 2017

 This year’s Veteran’s Day Assembly will begin at 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, November 15th, in the School Cafeteria.  All patrons are invited to attend.  If you are a Veteran of the armed forces we would like to honor and recognize you and your service during our program.  If you would like to participate, please see Mr. Harp or Donita Howard.


School will dismiss early at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 21st.  The buses will also run at that time.  


The Little Mulberry 4-H Club's November meeting will be moved to Monday the 20th to do the cookie baking workshop. Any families who can help deliver cookies to the Johnson County 4-H donors on Wednesday, the 22nd are asked to let Ms. Sandy know.


The Oark Teens 4 Christ group is raising funds to purchase Christmas gifts for 27 Angel Tree kids.  We are selling fudge and, thanks to Pinecrest Camp for sponsoring, 100% of your money will go toward the purchase of gifts!

Fudge Flavors are: Chocolate, Reese's Peanut Butter, Oreo Cookie, and Pumpkin Pie.

The Oark FBLA is selling Domino’s pizza cards THIS WEEK ONLY. Each card is $10 and good for a large “buy-one-get-one-free” pizza. There is no limit on the use of the cards, and you will start getting double pizza right away.  These will make fabulous stocking stuffers and gifts and cards will be delivered the first week of December. Please support the FBLA and buy a $10 pizza card BEFORE FRIDAY, November 17th.


The Oark Shooting Sports Team is selling Personalized Razorback Stepping Stones for only $20 each. All proceeds will go toward building a trap house for the trap machine and shooting platforms for our athletes. Place your order by December 8th and you will have the perfect Christmas gift for those you love! Contact Mrs. South to order yours today!


All 6th - 12th grade students interested in participating in shooting sports this school year need to sign up with Mrs. South ASAP!


The PTO is hosting a Turkey Bingo next Friday, November 17th from 6pm to 9pm in the High School Cafeteria! There will be prizes to win and concession will be available. Please bring either an item for the Oark Food Bank or $1 for a card. We need food items such as Mac & Cheese, Popcorn, Ramen, Peanut Butter or Cheese crackers, Vienna sausages, instant oatmeal packets, and/or granola/cereal bars. Extra donations are welcome!


Basketball games for the week are:  Monday, Nov. 13th the Jr. Girls, Sr. Girls, and Sr. Boys will travel to St. Paul.  Games begin at 4:00.   Tuesday, Nov 14th Jr. Boys and Sr. Boys will travel to the New School in Fayetteville.  Games begin at 5:30.  The Sr. Boys will play Future School of Fort Smith on Thursday, Nov 16th.  Game will begin at 6:00.


Pee Wee Girls Games for the week, Tuesday November 14th 3rd &4th play at 6:30pm, 5th&6th play at 7:30pm.


ATU College Tour for Talent Search students will be Wednesday, November 15th.

There is a note that will go home Monday, November 13th, with all 6th, 8th, 10th, and 12th grade students regarding parental permission for the student to participate in the Arkansas Prevention Needs Assessment.   This Statewide  survey will assist in determining effective interventions to combat drug and alcohol use.  


Library Club will be going to the movie theater Friday (Nov. 17) after school and return to school around 9:30 p.m..
